Almost there!

Things are starting to come together and the "fun" stuff has started. It seems like a lifetime ago that we met with Rick Winkleman, proprietor of Rick's Custom Cabinets. After thinking that we may end up with some garden variety, builder's grade cabinets, Rick came to our rescue and designed a gorgeous cabinet scheme for us. I wanted to keep it simple, something close to shaker style, something timeless. And since we had already picked out our granite, I was nervous about the color. I wanted the wood to remind me of an old library or train station, and it couldn't be too warm or it wouldn't match the granite. I think they nailed it :-)

Cabinet fronts

I love that the grain stands out but isn't too overwhelming with so many cabinets

I found these awesome pulls at Wayfair for way under the allowance we were given for hardware

We won't have appliances until the end of the month, so that gaping hole is the future home of our dishwasher. All appliances will be black stainless steel. The shelves were my special request - an homage to old country kitchens that have knick knack shelves next to the sink.
The pantry was built as a surround for the refrigerator. There's a desk on the right, also my request! We seem to drop a lot of paper into piles in our kitchen, I needed a way to tame the beast.

The stove and microwave go here and the bar and everything on the left is open to the great room.

More booty from Wayfair, pendant lights. Kitchen lighting was the bane of our existence for quite a while.

Master bath - exact same cabinet styles and pulls, just in white. Mirrors coming later!

Shower tile in master bath

The same granite is in both the kitchen and the master bath

Laundry room cabinets also follow the same style, but we used black granite in this room

We love the black granite almost as much as the white

Sunroom and bedroom fans are finally installed

Master bedroom, doors are out onto the deck, sunroom doors are to the right

Master closet was also installed this week - I hit a great Black Friday sale at the ClosetMaid website!

The basement turned out great, so glad we decided to go ahead and get this mostly finished

Yet one more Wayfair find.

Front porch - the front door is being stained off-site.
